Community based learning experts

We help companies become learning organisations by giving their people the opportunities to learn and network with the best training, events and meetups.

Tabar operates by helping our community reinvent their organisations using agile, lean and systems thinking methods and principles, through Learning Events such as conferences, training and professional meetups.

“Tabar” is an ancient word for "the tribe". We are servant-leaders who are passionate about helping our customers flourish. We are a business built on ideas from the Agile movement, tribal leadership, complexity theory, cognitive science, and positive psychology. We are inspired by Jurgen Appelo and the Happy Melly network, Tribal Leadership (Dave Logan, John King, and Halee Fisher-Wright), Tribes by Seth Godin,  Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh from Zappos, Tribal Learning from Daniel Mezick’s The Culture Game, and Learning Organisations from Dr Peter Senge’s The Fifth Discipline.

This includes working with leading international names. They include: Dr Alistair Cockburn, an original signatory to the Agile Manifesto for Software Development, Bas Vodde, co-founder of Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) and Jurgen Appelo, creator of Management 3.0 and founder of the Happy Melly network.

Tabar is the pioneer of Management 3.0 in Australia, having first brought it to these shores in 2012, and with a unique relationship with its founder, Jurgen Appelo.

We have helped businesses across a range of industries, including RMIT Online, Telstra, AGL, Sportsbet, Education Services Australia, Sensis, Open Universities Australia, REA Group, RMIT University, Swinburne University, Aconex, SecurePay, Digital Turbine, and Toll Global Logistics.

Engagement of the local agile and lean community is part of our DNA. We sponsor the Melbourne Agile and Scrum User Group, Agile Product and Project Managers Melbourne group and Agile Product Owners and Business Analysts Melbourne group. We also organised tours to the Toyota Altona plant, to see Lean principles in action.
